Tournament Note:

This tournament is dedicated to Ron Davis of Doverama and Kenneth Pennell of Millsboro. Both of these men dedicated much of their lives to helping with the youth bowlers of Lower Delaware whether it was with bowling or by just being a friend and listening. to these good men, which we greatly miss, this tournament is in their memory.

Tournament Rules

This tournament is open to all youth bowlers 8 and under. Bowlers that participate in an organized Pee Wee (bumpers) programs will be in Division A and all other youth bumper bowlers under age 8 will be placed in Division B.

Average as of March 15^th, 2007. To be eligible, you must participate in a youth bowling program list in the 2006-2007 season. Youth bowlers not in a house league will enter as a scratch entry in Division B. No entries accepted without full payment and average sheet for league bowlers. No entries without full payment for Division B bowlers.
Highest League Average as of 03/15/2007. Minimum of 21 games as of 3/15/2007. If the minimum of 21 games not bowled, you will not eligible for Division A of this tournament only for Division B.
Dress Code: Participants in the Tournament must be neat in appearance and meet the following dress code rules:
1. Shirts – Athletes must wear shirts that have a collar similar to golf or polo shirts. (Tee-shirts from a youth bowling program or USBC are acceptable)
2. Shirts must cover the entire midriff area or be tucked in.
3. Shorts and Skirts are allowed, but must be no shorter then 2 inches above the knee.
4. Advertisements on apparel or bowling equipment depicting alcohol, tobacco, and gambling or inappropriate language/gestures during tournament competition will not be allowed.
5. Pants must be worn at the waist or held there with a belt. Torn or cut jeans will not be allowed.
6. No hats of any kind are permitted. (Unless for religious reasons)
7. All clothing apparel must be the correct clothing size. (Ex if wear med shirt do not wear xxxl shirt)

Bowlers will be required to change if tournament officials deem attire inappropriate. Tournament official’s decision will be final.

Bowlers will participate in a league style format , changing lanes each frame. To keep a consistent pace, one lane courtesy will be observed.
All bowlers must check in at tournament desk at least ½ hour prior to scheduled bowling time. No Substitutions will be permitted.
Athletes and guests will not be permitted to smoke on the concourse or in the settee area during competition. Delaware State Law prohibits smoking inside bowling alleys. Doverama & DSUSBCY needs to provide the best possible atmosphere for these athletes at the event. No playing video games, eating or drinking in the bowling enclosure. Cell phones and other electronic equipment are prohibited. MP3 players, with headphones will be permitted. Volume must be kept low. Hand held video games will not be permitted!
Bowlers arriving late will begin play and the score will count beginning with that frame. Missed frames will be credited with a zero. A bowler not present to bowl when it is their turn will receive a zero for that frame.
Bowlers will be allowed 10 minutes of practice on their starting pair.
Only bowlers and tournament officials will be permitted in the settee area.
HANDICAP: 80% of 200.
SCORING: 2 games on same pair, with handicap. Highest score plus handicap will determine the winner for Division A. The highest score scratch of 2 games for Division B.
TIES: If a tie occurs for first place, both players will be awarded 1^st place.
Claims for errors in scoring or general playing rules must be made to the tournament director no later than 30 minutes after completion of the tournament. Questionable errors shall be decided upon by the tournament director within 48 hours or before the awards are distributed. Tournament director will be the final authority. Each protest under this rule must be specific in itself.
AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd,& 3^rd, places in division A and in division B 1^st and 2^nd place with a minimum of 8 entries per division. Each child will receive a participation award. Awards are based on bowling scores with handicap for Division A and scratch only for Division B. Award money is returned 100%.
Returned checks are subject to a $45.00 charge, and that person will no longer be permitted to write checks to the DSUSBCY Tournament.

The DSUSBCY Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept/to reject any participant.

All Matters not covered by these rules shall be determined by the Tournament Committee.
