This form may be used to submit a team application to this upcoming Lower Delaware Tournament. Payment must be received by the Lower Delaware Association
Manager no later than 7 days before the tournament date to guarantee your
team entry.
TOURNAMENT RULES
1. Only USBC sanctioned bowlers are eligible. Unsanctioned bowlers may qualify for entry and all USBC services by paying an affiliate membership of $15 (women) or $20 (men) prior to bowling. Bowlers must be sanctioned in LDUSBCWBA and/or LDUSBCBA.
2. Tournament will consist of mixed couples (1 male/1 female) event.
3. Bowlers can qualify more than once, but can only place once with the same partner.
4. Handicap will be 90% of 460 scratch doubles.
5. Entering averages:
a. Last season’s (09-10) highest USBC sanctioned winter league average of 21 games or more.
b. If no average last year, current season’s USBC sanctioned league average as of 9-19-10 for 21 games or more.
c. Bowlers with neither of the above averages must bowl scratch.
d. USBC rule 319a-2 (10 pin rule) does apply.
e. USBC rule 319d (reporting of prize winnings)does not apply.
6. It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of their own handicap, whether originally submitted by the bowler, the team captain or others. Failure to use the correct average shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than correct average, thereby resulting in more handicap. Prize winnings shall be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the correct average. Corrections in averages must be made before completion of first game.
7. All prize money will be returned 100% at a ratio of at least 1 prize for each 5 entries.
8. All decisions of the tournament management are final unless an appeal is made in accordance with USBC rule 329.
9. Substitutes are allowed when replacement is necessary. The tournament representative must be advised of substitution at least one hour before the scheduled bowling time, if possible. In case of an emergency after a game has started, a substitute, if one is available, shall be allowed to bowl. The combined scores count in either event. If no substitute is available, only the actual score of the frames bowled will count.
10. A substitute will not be required to reimburse the original entrant with the entry fee paid, nor shall the substitute be expected to give the original entrant any prize money or trophy they may win.
11. The lineup will be the same shown on the entry form.
12. Any player or team arriving after the game has started will be allowed to bowl and the score(s) will count beginning in the frame then being bowled. NO SCORE WILL BE GIVEN FOR FRAMES MISSED.
13. When players are scheduled alone on a pair of lanes, they must bowl as if they were actually contested. The players shall complete one frame on one lane before the leadoff player commences the next frame of the adjoining lane.
14. Any protest affecting eligibility or playing rules must be confirmed in writing to the tournament secretary before the tournament prize payments are made. Errors in scoring must be made and reported to the tournament secretary within 24 hours.
15. In the team event, the captain checks in the entire team one hour prior to bowling time. All bowlers must be checked in with the tournament secretary 30 minutes prior to bowling.
16. A tournament entrant will not be allowed to re-bowl a game or frame(s) within a game except as authorized by the tournament secretary when the scores are irretrievably lost in the scoring process.
17. The association may declare co-champions if there is a tie for any place in any event.
18. No food or beverages will be allowed in the bowling area, except for medical reasons.
19. The board of directors of the LDUSBCWBA/LDUSBCBA shall decide any questions not covered by these tournament rules. The board shall have the power to hear and act on all protests concerning the tournament.
20. Re-entry permitted as space allows. Doubles must have one new entrant.
21. Appropriate attire is required. No offensive pictures or wording on shirts is permitted. No hats are allowed during bowling.
